15 Best Supporting Characters In MCU Movies So Far
14. Wong
Wong almost didn't feature in Doctor Strange at all, with his comic book origins as a 'tea-making manservant' not exactly the kind of character that would fit in a 21st Century blockbuster.
Instead, the master of the mystical arts was reworked into an audience surrogate that helpfully explained the ins and outs of Kamar-Taj to Benedict Cumberbatch's title character. Exposition-heavy roles in comic book movies can often be a thankless task, but Doctor Strange's other Benedict gave his namesake Wong a world-weary quality that made him far removed from a simple sidekick.
Wong is just as good at sorcery as Stephen Strange, he just isn't an arrogant a**hole about it like the good doctor is, and the actor's deadpan demeanor and exasperation with his newest charge make the secret Beyonce fan an ideal counterpart to the brash and self-confident Sorcerer Supreme.
