As with many box-office smashes of late, there's a lot of talk about how it stacks up from a feminist perspective. Claire's arc from career-minded, somewhat cold woman to devoted mother figure certainly hasn't pleased everyone, and running while wearing high heels might be more symbolic than realistic or practical. But not everyone responds to these things in the same way, and Jackie Pataki's cartoon is a pretty concise explanation of why the heels might be some moviegoers' favorite part.
