15 Biggest Unresolved Plot Holes In Harry Potter

4. Felix Felicis

Felix Felicis is the most overpowered potion in the wizarding world. First introduced in The Half-Blood Prince by Professor Slughorn, this gold-coloured solution makes the drinker lucky for a short amount of time.

In fairness to Rowling, she did her best to cover up the potential plot holes with Felix Felicis. As well as taking six months to make, the potion has severe consequences if made incorrectly and can make the drinker dangerously reckless.

But this still doesn't explain why the potion wasn't used more often. It would have been an invaluable substance for both the heroes and villains of the franchise. And yet nobody ever thought to try and make some for their own benefit.

It’s almost as if Rowling knew she’d gone too far with this potion because it isn’t even mentioned in The Deathly Hallows despite how useful it would have been during Harry’s hunt for the Horcruxes.
