15 Break-Out Film Actors Who Ruled 2012

1. Scoot McNairy

scootmcnairy600 Scoot McNairy has been in the business since the early 2000s in little seen indie movies and even smaller roles on various TV shows. It was not until the surprise 2010 indie hit Monsters that he really started showing up on Hollywood€™s radar. With a trio of supporting, but crucial roles in 2012 films, McNairy proved himself a hot movie commodity and a future household name. First came Argo, Ben Affleck€™s acclaimed drama about the Iran Hostage Crisis. In it, he plays one of the main hostages and the most skeptical of the risky, hare-brained escape plan. Next, in his best performance of the year, he went toe-to-toe with Brad Pitt in the stylish, modern-day gangster film Killing Them Softly. Finally, he had a small, but crucial role in Promised Land as a prideful farmer who refuses Matt Damon€™s natural gas offer. What€™s Next: Touchy Feely w/ Ellen Page and Rosemaire DeWitt; Twelve Years a Slave w/ Pitt, Fassbender, Giamatti, & Cumberbatch; Frank w/ Fassbender & Maggie Gyllenhaal; Non-Stop w/ Liam Neeson & Julianne Moore; and The Rover w/ Robert Pattison & Guy Pearce.
