15 Break-Out Film Actors Who Ruled 2012

11. Christopher Denham

Chris Denham After bit parts in Charlie Wilson€™s War and Shutter Island, Christopher Denham was another actor poised for a breakout year (if he was good enough for Martin Scorsese and Mike Nichols, he should be good enough for anybody). And with three films released last year, 2012 definitely seems like the time. First came The Sound of My Voice, though it premiered at 2011 Sundance, did not actually get an official release until 2012. He plays a journalist going undercover and eventually getting caught up in a small California cult and its enigmatic leader. He also starred in The Bay, an environmental found-footage horror film that ended up being better than it probably should have been. Then finally came the big one €“ Argo, in which he played one of the hostages being rescued - an essential part of a terrific ensemble in one of the year's most praised films. What€™s Next: Whiskey Bay w/ Amy Smart, Willem Dafoe, & Matt Dillion.
