Why He Should Die
Again, he's a walking cliche: if it turns out that Shaw is indeed joining the heroic team at the behest of Kurt Russell's Frank Petty, then his arc is pretty obviously mapped out already.
He will be introduced to the annoyance of his former enemies - especially The Rock's former Agent Hobbs - will spend the majority of the film under suspicion of being a double agent and will then be killed proving that he is a true hero. And then his mother will turn up (as played by Helen Mirren) and beat in whoever's head killed him.
How He'll Die
It might not be the way it plays out, but the idea of Jason Statham going toe-to-toe with Game Of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju - playing one of main villain Cipher's henchmen - in a final scrap is quite wonderful. And then Helen Mirren coming to beat up the Norwegian is almost even better.
The key obviously is that Shaw would have to give his life protecting someone he previously clashed with, and Hobbs sounds like the perfect candidate.
