1. There's Probably Never Going To Be A Better Batman Movie Than The Dark Knight

It might seem a little cynical to claim that The Dark Knight will stand forever as the greatest Batman movie ever made (and that nothing else will ever come close), but there are a few reasons why such a thing is probably true.

Firstly, Nolan's film came at a time when Batman wasn't as big as he is now. There weren't any particularly huge expectations hung on The Dark Knight - people liked Batman Begins, but it wasn't viewed as a masterpiece. When the sequel landed, it was an unexpected triumph. Heath Ledger blew everyone out of the water. It did wonders a the box office. And everybody started to think Batman was amazing.

As a result, audiences today are primed for somebody to deliver the next Dark Knight experience. But we live in a different world now - one where superhero fever has hit such a frenzied point that our expectations cannot be met. Which essentially makes it impossible for Hollywood to bring us a "better" flick (whatever that would be).

So, whilst it would be nice, fans should probably come to terms with the fact that The Dark Knight will forever stand as the benchmark, never to be surpassed.
