Just in time for Christmas, on 18th December 2020, Disney will bring a new iteration of West Side Story to our screens from the legendary Steven Spielberg. This will be the second movie adaptation of the classic musical since 1961.

Ansel Elgort, who has risen to fame over the last few years thanks to the likes of the Divergent series, Baby Driver, and The Goldfinch, will lead as Tony, with the opportunity to show off his vocal ability. The actor has actually released a handful of singles over the years, but has never been able to bring this musical talent onto the screen before.

Rather than a remake of the 1961 movie, Spielberg's version, written by frequent collaborator Tony Kushner, will be truer to the original Broadway musical itself.
