Destin Daniel Cretton (Short Term 12) directs this adaptation of Jeannette Walls' acclaimed 2005 memoir which is quite possibly going to earn Woody Harrelson a Best Supporting Actor nomination as alcoholic father Rex Walls.

It's a gift of a role for any actor and affords Harrleson some terrific opportunities to show off his chops, which could easily translate into him finally winning an Oscar on his third attempt.

It remains to be seen how the field will be filled out, sure, but Harrelson is already staking out his place early by tackling such challenging subject matter.
