15 Early Predictions For 2018 Oscars

1. Paul Thomas Anderson's Fashion Drama Wins Only One Oscar

There's obviously a ton of hype surrounding Paul Thomas Anderson's latest, but his films are actually pretty hit-and-miss as far as winning Oscars goes: Inherent Vice and The Master both went home empty handed, while There Will Be Blood scooped just two wins for Best Actor and Best Cinematography.

Though Daniel Day-Lewis will almost certainly be nominated for Best Actor, don't be surprised if the film only garners two or three nominations total, and the area where it's most confidently a contender actually isn't Best Actor (as mentioned earlier), but rather Best Costume Design.

It's a movie about the fashion industry and PTA is a ridiculously meticulous director, so expect plenty of clothing porn that the costume branch of the Academy will eat up like catnip, and that'll probably be its single win if that Armie Hammer prediction plays out.
