15 Most Epic Trailer Moments From 2014's Biggest Films

4. The Grand Budapest Hotel - Ralph Fiennes Attempting Escape

Love Wes Anderson's quirky style of storytelling and humour or hate it, there's no denying the man's talent, the way that he can attract it in the shape of actors, and his eye for a shot. The trailer for The Grand Budapest Hotel came out of nowhere to excite us to the core, throwing all sorts of comedy and action at us with a cast that would be most director's wet dream. Ralph Fiennes' lovably posh, slightly camp womaniser steals the trailer and looks as if he will steal the entire the film. He confesses to sleeping with OAPs, gets punched in the face by Adrian Brody, and says something that could be perceived as being slightly racists and will definitely be perceived as being hilarious all in the space of two-minutes and twenty-six-seconds. But his shiniest laugh is a simple, but an effective one. On being accused of murdering an old woman, he runs. The camera doesn't move, it takes the police a second to chase after him, obviously surprised to how casually it all happened. It shouldn't be as funny as it is but it just is, thanks to the aforementioned Fiennes and the low key nature of the single shot that is out of character when compared to the rest of the trailer regarding it's lightning quick blink it and you'll miss it pace. If you haven't seen a Wes Anderson film yet, this seems like a wonderful place to start. Unfortunately, though, we all have to wait until March to check in.
