15 Essential Films You Might've Missed From This Decade (So Far)

1. The Dance Of Reality

Of all the filmmakers whose works inhabit that strange space between reality and fantasy, fact and fiction, the movies of Alejandro Jodorowsky stand head and shoulders above the competition, residing in an esoteric realm where cinema itself becomes almost a metaphysical construct. Having not made a film for over twenty years, Jodorosky finally stepped behind the camera once again to helm The Dance Of Reality, a semi-autobiographical film depicting his early years growing up as a boy in Chile. Jodorowsky fuses personal memoirs with mythology and poetry and films it all with a consistently dream-like quality. The Dance Of Reality is a challenging film by mainstream standards, but for Jodorowsky this is perhaps one of his most accessible productions. What other obscure films of the decade so far would you recommend which might have slipped people by? Why not let us know in the comments below?
