Wanted is a six-part comic about a desk jockey called Wesley Gibson who turns into a bad-ass assassin after being taken in by a secret society called The Fraternity.

Excluding that plot summary, the film has nothing else in common with Millar's work. There's no bullet-bending, healing baths, or magic looms.

Also, The Fraternity don't kill corrupt leaders to bring balance to the world. They're psychotic supervillains who slaughter people for fun. Over the years, they've murdered every superhero on Earth and made society forget heroes existed using a reality-shifting machine.

Even though everyone looks normal in the film, The Fraternity members look like stereotyped supervillains with colour costumes, robotic appendages, and anthropomorphic bodies. (Also, there's one baddie that's made out of literal crap.)

Wesley may be the hero of the film but his comic counterpart becomes a killing machine when he joins the Fraternity, gunning down civilians without hesitation. There's also a moment where he forces himself on his celebrity crush. Obviously, many of these elements were changed for the film to make the lead character more likeable.
