15 Films Critics Got Right (But Audiences Got Wrong)

11. Kill List

Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice Ben Affleck Henry Cavill
Optimum Releasing

Rotten Tomatoes: 77% (Average rating: 7.1)

IMDb: 6.4

Yet another one of the best horror films of the 2010s, this has an even lower score than Green Room and It Follows, which makes this one of the most unfairly low-rated films on the whole of IMDb.

The 6.4 rating is actually slightly heart-breaking. Yes it's weird, confusing and slow but come on! Kill List is freaking great.

It boasts superb direction from Ben Wheatley, the acting is excellent, the screenplay is wonderfully twisty and frightening and it just gets madder and madder as it goes along. It should not have been written-off purely because it's a bizarre film that is nothing like the straightforward folk horror film the marketing suggested.

Sadly, there is a chance that some viewers might be put off from watching Kill List because of this unfairly low score, which would be seriously unfortunate since any genre fan who doesn't watch Kill List is missing out on something truly excellent.

IMDb ratings are generally fine but this is definitely one of the worst and most unjust scores on the entire site. Currently, this has a lower rating than the widely (and rightly) hated Terminator Genisys. Just let that sink in for a moment.

Anyway, as misjudged this film was by audiences, definitely give it a look. Go in knowing as little as possible and you'll have a great time.

Should Be Rated: 7.8
