5. The Wolf Of Wall Street
Speaking of Oscar contenders, there's no denying that Martin Scorsese's latest,
The Wolf of Wall Street, will be looking to wow the Academy when it rolls into theaters this November. Starring Marty's 21st century muse Leonardo DiCaprio, the film tells the true story of Jordan Belfort, a New York stockbroker who refuses to take part in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street and the mob. Scorsese will be right at home with this film, returning to the gangster/mob genre he knows and loves. The supporting cast is also incredibly strong as well. DiCaprio is joined by Academy Award nominee Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey (in the middle of a career revival), Academy Award winner Jean Dujardin, and Kyle Chandler among others. As expected in a Scorsese picture, the acting should be off the charts. Hill even described this as a "white collar
GoodFellas." That's some serious praise and if that's the case, Marty will have yet another masterpiece on his hands. Plus, there's a chance Leo could win his first Oscar.
