15 Great Horror Movies (Nobody Ever Talks About)

12. Housebound

Creep Movie
Semi-Professional Pictures

The quirky 2014 Kiwi horror comedy Housebound was outshined by What We Do in the Shadows upon release, but it’s a pretty great haunted house mystery of its own, and one with a killer twist to boot.

Sure, (spoilers) said twist may remove the film from the supernatural part of the “horror” genre in the strictest terms, but with plenty going creak in the night and a ton of tense, suspenseful, and blackly hilarious sequences throughout its runtime, this one nonetheless more than earns a place on this list.

Besides, if people can call 2016’s The Boy a horror, the vastly superior Housebound certainly earns the term.
