15 Greatest Cult Actors Of All Time

12. Bill Moseley

Bill Moseley is severely underrated as an actor, and has actually provided two of the most memorable, creepy and interesting characters ever to grace the horror genre. One of those is absolutely hilarious, and the other resulted in a performance that was deemed Oscar-worthy by fans. The former is his performance of Chop Top in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Undoubtedly the most underrated of the TCM sequels, its success is largely down to the creation of an utterly insane and totally hilarious music-loving character that is missing most of his skull. Moseley's performance is completely OTT, but it absolutely works in the context of the film. The latter role is that of Otis Driftwood in House Of 1000 Corpses and, more notably, The Devil's Rejects. Rob Zombie's films are excellent pieces of schlocky exploitation horror, and Moseley is right at the centre of them both. In The Devil's Rejects, he comes across as a dead-ringer for Charles Manson, but he's arguably even more terrifying than the real life serial killer. He snarls, slices and cusses his way through the narrative; there have been few better portrayals of killers in cinema. Fans of the film even lobbied for him to receive awards, which (obviously) never materialised.
