Nicolas Cage is back but this time, he has a mullet and a white tank top. They jump through plenty of hoops to make Cages Cameron Poe an irrefutable good guy and a convict at the same time. Poe is another action hero that can take an amount of physical punishment that would kill any ordinary human. You can tell they are trying to portray the American manly hero but Cage may not have the shoulders necessary to carry the load. In order to make Cage as masculine as possible, they turn John Cusacks Vince Larkin from a sandal wearing do gooder into a manly badass simply by spending time with Cages character. This entry on the list has an all star cast of villains with John Malkovich, Danny Trejo, Ving Rhames and Steven Buscemi. Unfortunately, except for Malkovich, most of the villains are just there to be in Cages way and say scary lines. .Trejo and Rhames don't even get memorable deaths. Also if you are ever wondering how this movie wants you to feel, dont worry, the music tells you. There is a lilting love song for Cameron Poes family scenes and a high pitched electric guitar lick for every action scene. Just stay tuned for all the Nicolas Cage scenes or anytime they cue that electric guitar and the explosions start happening.
