15 Kids Movie Moments That Felt More Like Horror Films

8. Dorothy Encounters Heads - Return To Oz (1985)

In this unofficial follow-up to The Wizard Of Oz, Dorothy, predictably, returns to Oz. Though, this time things are quite different. Her previous sojourn into the emerald city was kicked off with lots of singing and dancing (and a suicide urban legend) and everything was tip top, even after the witch appeared. In this dystopian version of Frank Baum€™s Oz, there€™s none of that: gone is the bright technicoloured dream world, with streets lined by gleeful Munchkins, as that realm has been pillaged, and now taken over by a reign of unimaginable terror. In the previous film it was already established that Oz is no place for a young child, and sure enough, things are no different this time around. However, no-one could have predicted that Dorothy would be confronted by a gallery of wailing disembodied heads before being chased by a decapitated corpse. It's bleak, creepy, and, yes, quite horrifying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XjC_0lGm0E
