2. Lady Gaga Covers The Sound Of Music (Surprisingly Well)
Lady Gaga at the Oscars? That's weird enough, right? What proved to be even more unexpected was that the eccentric musician toned down the freakiness as she ripped through a superb medley from The Sound of Music, belting out the classic likes of "The Sound of Music," "My Favorite Things," "Edelweiss" and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" from the hit movie. Gaga was kitted out in an elegant, bouffant dress and looked a good deal more normal than her edgy image ever usually allows, proving to even those who don't like her music that she has an undeniable set of pipes. And to top it all off, once Gaga finished her rendition, the movie's star, Julie Andrews, came out to congratulate her on a fantastic performance. A classic Oscar moment if there ever was one, and it'll do endlessly good PR for the pop icon.
