6. Toy Story 2 Was Almost Lost

Quite famously, there were a couple of versions of Toy Story 2. There was the intended straight-to-DVD version, which John Lasseter canned after he'd completed A Bug's Life, deciding that it wasn't good enough to proceed and forcing him and his team to make an entire film in 9 months.

And it could have been an even more fraught production as one slip by an animator almost lost all of the work done on the film in 1998. While clearing some files, the over-zealous animator accidentally started a deletion of the root folder of the Toy Story 2 assets on Pixar's internal servers and lost 90% of two years of work.

Luckily, technical director Galyn Susman, who had just given birth and was working from home, had backups of the assets,a allowing Pixar to restore it and presumably remove the function to Delete All immediately.
