15 Mind-Blowing Disney Movie Facts
14. Merida's Complex Hair
Back when Pixar was making Monsters Inc, they were presented with the complex issue of animating Sully's fur, which was counted as the film's major innovation (and which came too late to include Lotso Huggin' Bear in the first Toy Story, as had been intended).
But they took the animations technique for his fur (which was also used to animate the anemone that Nemo and Marlin live in in Finding Nemo) to new extremes for Brave. Stunningly, in that film, Merida's flaming mane of hair includes 1500 individual strands of hair.
In Disney's Tangled, meanwhile, Rapunzel's 70 feet of golden hair consisted of more than 100,000 individual hairs.
