15 More Movie Robots You've Probably Forgotten

13. The Mechanical Man (1921)

Considered lost for decades, this early Italian sci-fi film was recently rediscovered in Brazil. Much of the movie was lost but enough remained to see some robots, which means I can add them to my article. The movie starts with a scientist creating an incredibly strong and fast mechanical man kept in check by a remote control device. A criminal gang kills the scientist to gain the knowledge for building mechanical men. The criminal leader then embarks on a series of crimes using her powerful new robot, but the scientist's brother creates another robot to challenge the first. The two mechanical men fight it out in an opera house where both are destroyed. The criminal leader is of course electrocuted by her remote control because crime doesn't pay. Only about 26 of the original 80 minutes of the film remain, but luckily for us the fight scene was preserved. Estimated chance you've seen this one: Less than 1% - The film is so rare I doubt many have seen it
