6. Iron Man Vs. Whiplash - Iron Man 2
The Showdown: Ivan Vanko aka Whiplash (Mickey Rourke) shows up in a new and improved Mk. 2 armoured suit, and looks set to be a hefty nuisance to both Iron Man and War Machine (Don Cheadle).
The Anti-Climax: After Rhodey fires a rocket called "The Ex-Wife" at Whiplash and it turns out to be a dud (Hammer tech, indeed), the handicap match begins, with the pair firing missiles and gunfire at Whiplash, while he uses his electric whip to fling them around.
In a desperation move, Stark and Rhodey then fire their energy blasts at one another, taking Whiplash down, prompting him to pull a Predator and self-destruct his own suit as well as those of all the downed Hammer drones.
The whole fight lasts barely sixty seconds and is by far one of the most underwhelming MCU final battles to date. Rourke and Whiplash both deserved better: it's like the budget just ran out and they had to quickly get it over with.
