9. The War On Cybertron - Bumblebee

If you needed proof that Bumblebee wasn't going to be another juvenile, braindead Transformers movie, look no further than its incredible opening scene, which handily sets the tone for the rest of the film.

Bumblebee's opening sequence takes place on the Transformer homeworld Cybertron as the Autobots and Decepticons are engaged in all-out war.

Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) kicks plenty of robot butt before calling in some help from B-127 (Dylan O'Brien), but upon realising that the Decepticons are too mighty to be fought off, he tasks Bee with travelling to Earth to set up a refuge base for the Autobots. As Bee makes leave for Earth, Optimus remains on Cybertron to fight the good fight.

This right here - the retro Transformer designs, the iconic transforming sound effects and the delirious metal-clanging action - is everything the Michael Bay movies always should've been.

Though we don't see much of Cybertron throughout the movie, what we get feels like a heart-on-sleeve love letter to the beloved source material.
