What Everyone Expected: A comedy that probably wasn't very good...on purpose...and so was kinda funny? What Actually Happened: You've gotta be pretty confident that your movie's good if you give it a title as easy for critics to disparage as Superbad, and as such pundits the world over were probably a bit disappointed when the movie turned out to be one of the funniest teen comedies of the last decade. Of course, it could be said that the title is a reference to how the movie's geeky trio are trying to act "super bad" to impress their respective objects of affection, or how their night seems to get progressively worse, but had the movie been even just mediocre, critics would have had a field day with the name. What It Should Have Been Called: Superawesome is the obvious one, or hell, just call it The Adventures of McLovin and The Gang.
