Required Action Hero Line: "I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their !*$%. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free."

Starting with a Point Break rip-off storyline, the Fast and Furious franchise began with simple street crime and street racing. They kept the basic formula through the next three sequels. Even the step-child of the series, Tokyo Drift, follows a low-level idea of respect on the street with a grey moral compass.

Since Fast 5, the series has continued to one-up itself and see how far they can escalate the stakes and the stunts. Regardless of how "deep" or realistic you view the movies, the one thing that never really left is the fun. Every character, every scene, every stunt is ridiculous.

In the end, we're tuning in for the entertainment from Toretto, Letty, Hobbs, Shaw, and the rest of the crew.
