15 Most Powerful Movie Performances Of All Time

10. Samuel L Jackson - Pulp Fiction (1994)

For all the many, many roles Samuel L Jackson has played over his career (he'd made 29 films before Pulp Fiction, and he's made around 100 more since), his performance in Quentin Tarantino's sophomore movie will always be the one that he's remembered for. And with good reason, as he's just fantastic in it. Obviously getting such great dialogue from Tarantino's script helps a great deal. it's Jackson's magnetism that lifts the thoughtful hitman Jules to a higher level, making the comparatively lesser known actor (at the time) tower over such more established co-stars as John Travolta and Bruce Willis. Look up Ezekiel 25-17 in the Bible, and you'll find it bears almost no resemblance to what Jackson says in the movie - but those are the lines you're more certain to remember, in that unmistakable voice.

Ben Bussey hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
