8. Agent Carter Gets Cancelled Despite Rave Reviews

The Controversy: After just 18 episodes over two seasons, Agent Carter was axed by ABC due to low ratings (the season two finale had barely 33% of the first season premiere's viewers). This was particularly surprising as the show received strong reviews throughout its run.

Fans were naturally mad as hell and created a petition demanding that the show be renewed on Netflix, receiving an admittedly impressive 130,000 signatures.

Why It's Ridiculous: It's a nice idea and all, but 130,000 people isn't much more than a drop in the ocean when it comes to a network TV show, and as painful as it is to admit, reviews don't mean squat when a show's audience has such a sharp drop-off.

The passion and optimism is admirable, but it was ultimately a pretty futile and naive endeavour. Getting mad at ABC for cancelling a failing show is, all things considered, pretty ridiculous given how little support the show had in terms of ratings.
