15. The Cloverfield Paradox
The third entry into the unexpected "CloverVerse" is destined to be remembered for its shocking stealth release on Netflix following the conclusion of this year's Super Bowl, but the middling sci-fi horror romp doesn't want for strangeness itself.
The Cloverfield Paradox is an undeniably sloppy film which was sold to the streaming giant after Paramount realised they had a box office dud on their hands.
The script is all over the place and most of the Cloverfield references - of which there aren't really many - feel shoehorned in, but the body horror sequences are at least legitimately disturbing.
A character gets stuck in the walls of a spaceship, another vomits up worms after a gyroscope embeds itself in his gut, someone has their arm severed only for it to wander around of its own free will, and of course, a gigantic, 6000-foot tall Clover monster emerges out of the clouds for a final scare.
It's a wildly uneven film albeit one with a certain eyebrow-raising unpredictability, therefore making it watchably weird in the very least.
