15 Movie Sequels That Will Definitely Be Announced In 2017

6. The Bye Bye Man 2

Guardians Of The Galaxy 3
STX Entertainment

The Bye Bye Man is far from a good movie, but it's already grossed approximately three-times its $7.4 million budget, and could be a consistently profitable franchise for STX Entertainment moving forward.

Sure, it's not on the higher end of cost-to-profit ratios for horror flicks, but people still turned out to see it, it'll probably make a ton of money on home video, and the movie set up a marketable antagonist who will be instantly recognisable in trailers for the inevitable sequel.

Most of us would probably be just fine if this critically-panned horror was a one-off, but STX may as well milk the cash-cow to line their coffers. Expect an imminent sequel announcement followed by a quickie production that probably gets it in cinemas by early 2018.
