4. The Godfather Trilogy
"This movie shows even more than JFK or The Edukators," your friend was quick to point out at least once during all three films, "that you have police, senators, and religious figures all manipulating power around the civilized world and leaving the rest of us with nothing. It's all a business to them, for them to get out on top. No matter how high Michael Corleone goes, he can't find a darn thing in this world that is legitimate, to live honestly and happily with his family. In fact, the higher he goes, the worse it gets. Police don't help us, senators don't help us, and religious figures don't help us. They're the walls keeping us in." "Thinking about these movies helps us live though," you impotently thought to offer while trying to focus on the iconic "I know it was you" moment. "What's the worth in that?" your friend demanded. "Tell me that." You'd think a movie couldn't make your friend's outlook on Western society any worse than that. Which always brings you to the next movie on this list, which in fact does so, to a supremely more epic level. Much like its title character, it has created a lot of really cool friends in this world, but it has also created a lot of a**hole friends as well.
