With Ant-Man and the Wasp revolving around the rescue of Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) from the quantum realm, it was a pretty reasonable expectation that Hope (Evangeline Lilly) would end up trading one parent for another.

After all, what'd be more poetically bittersweet than Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) sacrificing himself, either to save Hope or bring Janet back from the quantum realm?

If you want to get technical, then yes, Hank Pym was snapped to ash by Thanos (Josh Brolin) in the mid-credits scene, but he's 99% likely to be back among the living by the end of Avengers: Endgame.

In terms of Ant-Man and the Wasp's self-contained story, Hope actually made it to the finish line with two living parents. Nice.
