12. Somerfield Battle
Now I dont know about you, but when I was younger and I was dragged along to the local supermarket for the weekly stock up; I used to alleviate the boredom by pretending I was in an action movie where I was the hero. Impractical? Most definitely. But fun nonetheless. With the Somerfield battle sequence Hot Fuzz embraces many a childhood fantasy (or just mine) and create an action scene from nowhere and utilising its unique environment for a truly brilliant fight scene. Bulletproof meat counters, workers throwing fruit and a man trapped in a freezer. This is the stuff of pure childhood fantasy and only makes the film better for it.
