15 Things You Didn't Know About Nicolas Cage

6. He Paid $276,000 For A Dinosaur Skull

Okay, so you've got the islands in the Bahamas, the Action Comics No.1, the castles and now you own the tomb in the New Orleans cemetery. So, what else do you need? Oh, you know what you've forgotten: the genuine dinosaur skull. In 2007 Cage outbid Leonardo DiCaprio to win a 67-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus bataar skull. At the time it was the oldest dinosaur skull to ever be auctioned off. What Cage actually did with the skull is anyone's guess, but the purchase resurfaced in the form of some negative headlines in 2013. Apparently the skull was illegally auction after a crooked palaeontologist smuggled it from Mongolia. The skull was then recalled, pending an investigation.
