When Kiefer Sutherland first moved to LA, he set out on a long and arduous search for a suitable and affordable apartment. As was traditional, he ended up sharing space with another struggling actor and the two would help each other out with parts, cover the rent from time to time, and generally enjoy life as a pair of young hopeful stars with bellies full of booze and heads full of dreams. The name of Sutherland's first roommate? A Mr Robert, Downey, Jr., with whom he shared a modestly-sized abode for the better part of three years. Quite how the place must have looked when the two first got their breaks into the Brat Pack is another question entirely, but it's amusing to think that Iron Man and Jack Bauer will have at least once argued over whose turn it was to do the dishes.
