9. Emanuelle In America (1977)
In this excursion of the Black Emanuelle series, directed by Italian miscreant director - Joe D'Amato and starring Laura Gemser as our always alluring intrepid journalist, a number of shocking depravities are exposed all over the world. Emanuelle manages to infiltrate a modern day harem and undercover what sexual games diplomats play at their gatherings. The film is spiced up by several hardcore sex scenes. But things get heavy when Emanuelle is trying to expose a corrupt government official. She runs across an international snuff ring conspiracy. How will our heroine inveigle her way out of this one? Depraved perversions galore predominate in Emanuelle in America, beyond the kinky hardcore sex, there is a sequence of a woman masturbating a horse - and no, it's not simulated. Quite why director D'Amato felt the need to include this insert is beyond me. Maybe he just wanted to heighten the depravity factor of the film by a few notches. Also adding to the depravity factor of the film is the snuff film footage. Although it is fake, it is highly realistic looking and exceedingly nasty in tone. It definitely strikes a depraved tone in another wise light hearted film, but hey, that's Joe D'Amato for ya!
