3. Your Move, Chief - Good Will Hunting (1997)

No Country For Old Men Tommy Lee Jones
Miramax

Robin Williams' finest performance saw him play therapist Sean Maguire in the Matt Damon/Ben Affleck-penned drama Good Will Hunting, which follows math prodigy Will (Damon) as he attends court-mandated therapy and tries to move on from his troubled life.

In the admittedly humorous first act, Will is sent to several therapists, all of whom he humiliates or scares off entirely.

But then he meets Sean, a wise and no-bullsh*t psychiatrist who sits him down in a park and breaks his defences with a speech that would make Shakespeare weep.

Sean talks about his ill wife, how Will doesn't understand love and therefore has never opened up to anyone; he talks about Will's undeniable genius, and his own turbulent misfortunes. He cuts right through Will's shield, more than anyone else in the boy's life, and in that moment sparks a rare and truly beautiful friendship.
