3. Tobey Maguire Plays Uncle Ben - Spider-Man: Far From Home

The Rumour: Tobey Maguire will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel as Uncle Ben, showing up in a flashback sequence.

How Likely Is It?: This only really caught fire with the Internet after Tom Holland expressed a desire for it to happen, rather than it being rooted in any tangible rumour or consistent logic.

After all, Kevin Feige has expressed a desire not to keep retelling Peter Parker's origin story, and with Marisa Tomei being literally a decade older than Maguire, the mechanics of it don't quite line up (no matter how ageless Tomei's Aunt May seems).

It's for the best, really: this would be far more likely to end up as cringe-worthy fan-service rather than actually contributing something meaningful to the MCU's Spider-Man mythology.
