14. Ocean's Eight

Budget: $70 million

Though this all-female spin-off from the Ocean's franchise has a ton of potential as far as its cast goes and it's got a fairly "modest" budget by most blockbuster standards, that doesn't change the fact that it's been given a suicidal release date, hitting cinemas two weeks after Han Solo, one week after Deadpool 2, one week before The Incredibles 2 and two weeks before Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Though several of these releases may end up suffering from the insane amount of competition at the time, the aforementioned properties are all far more popular and beloved than the Ocean's series, and unless Warner Bros. moves it out of this death slot, it's going to be the one to suffer the most.

The saddest thing is that people will consequently use it as an example against female-led spin-off movies, rather than recognising the asinine scheduling at play.
