15 Upcoming Movies Destined To Be Box Office Bombs
8. Rampage
Release Date: April 20, 2018
Budget: $110 million (estimated)
Though director Brad Peyton and Dwayne Johnson have proven successful collaborators twice before on Journey 2 and San Andreas, they're probably going to come unstuck with this loose adaptation of the classic arcade video game Rampage.
The main obstacle is that not only is the video game not as well-known as most games to receive movie adaptations so far, but it's also got one Hell of a goofy concept (The Rock vs. giant animals!) that could so easily fall flat with audiences.
As Baywatch's disappointing box office haul proved that casual viewers won't just go along with Johnson for the sake of it, Rampage's marketing will need to pull out all the stops to win over audiences.
It's not looking good so far, especially as it hits cinemas a week after New Mutants, and two weeks before Avengers: Infinity War, the latter of which is pretty much guaranteed to cut its legs off.
Estimated Box Office: $150 million
