15 Upcoming Movies That Are Essentially Rip-Offs

10. How To Be Single Rips Off... He's Just Not That Into You

The Original Movie: Based on Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo's self-help book of the same name, this is an ensemble romantic comedy concerned with a number of women as they attempt to navigate the relationship mindfield, and of course, each has their own drama with their partner of choice. The Ripoff: Based on Liz Tuccillo's first novel, How to Be Single is an ensemble romantic comedy about a woman (Dakota Johnson) trying to figure out the single life all while the romantic and personal woes of her friends and family mount up around her. Naturally, though, romance will win out, and the single life will be shed. Yes, Tuccillo wrote both books, but it sounds like the two movies have much more in common than the paperbacks ever did, given that He's Just Not That Into You differs significantly in film form (considering the source material is a self-help book). Still, the movie made almost $180 million worldwide, so it's no surprise that the filmmakers behind this new effort are clinging close to that winning formula.
