Why It Should Suck: Do we really need a live-action adaptation of every popular Disney animation? Plus, is it wise to put an adaptation of one of Disney's most beloved icons in the hands of the maddeningly inconsistent Tim Burton and Transformers writer Ehren Kruger?
Why It Might Be Awesome: As easy as it is to be cynical about this, that first teaser was actually pretty damn delightful, and suggests this could be one of Burton's better recent films.
The visual effects for Dumbo look fantastic, the character design is suitably adorable, and considering how the teaser alone had many wiping tears from their eyes, the final movie is probably going to break hearts all over the place.
Plus, the cast includes Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green and Alan Arkin, all of whom should lend plenty of added gravitas to one of Disney's most inherently emotional classic tales.
Fingers, toes and everything else crossed for this one.
