15 WTF Moments From BAFTAs 2017
7. The Most Nervous Acceptance Speech Of All Time
Iranian-born filmmaker Babak Anvari picked up the Outstanding British Debut BAFTA for writing and directing the terrific horror film Under the Shadow, and took to the stage to give probably the most nervous speech of the entire awards season and perhaps in BAFTA history.
Throughout his 84-second speech, Anvari said "uh" a whopping 38 times, which is almost an impressive feat to be quite honest. Still, the guy was clearly extremely grateful for the award, and you can't really blame him being nervous after making an indie horror flick and then being thrust into the same room with Hollywood royalty.
