Tessa Thompson's star has certainly been on the rise for some time, after 2014 saw her give a memorable performance in Dear White People, and last year she played the (admittedly quite shoehorned) love interest in Creed.
While Thompson had a pretty quiet 2016, appearing in just War on Everyone and a few episodes of HBO's Westworld, she's set to have a huge 2017 for one reason: Thor: Ragnarok.
Thompson won the coveted role of Asgardian warrior Valkyrie, who will be Thor's love interest throughout the movie, with her contract reportedly bringing her back for multiple films.
She's gorgeous and a terrific actress, so honestly it was just a matter of time before the MCU came a-knocking with a ripe part. Big things are ahead.
