16 New Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters To Look Out For In 2016

5. Spider-Man

Who's Playing Him? Tom Holland. Who's Tom Holland? He's only been acting for a few years now, but some of his notable projects include 2012's The Impossible, alongside Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts, the currently-playing In the Heart of the Sea, and the upcoming Pilgrimage, with Richard Armitage and fellow MCU newcomer Jon Bernthal. What's He Appearing In? Captain America: Civil War. Why You Should Be Excited: After years of fans clamoring to see Spider-Man rightfully take his place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe only to be shut down time and again due to Sony seemingly refusing to consider playing ball with Marvel and Disney, it came as a wonderful surprise when it was announced everyone involved was working together to make it happen, with Spider-Man set for a role in Civil War ahead of his own solo film in 2017. We've had five Spider-Man films of varying critical, financial, and creative success since 2002, but it's hard not to be thrilled at the prospect of seeing him finally brought to life by the people who understand and value the character the most. Spider-Man's finally home and his future in the MCU - whatever it may be - is already looking bright.
