16 Weirdest Horror Films You've Never Seen

1. Mystics In Bali (1981)

From the man who brought fans the highly-acclaimed Lady Terminator comes this star-studded love story under the guise of a supernatural horror film.

OK, all sarcasm aside, this insane Indonesian horror movie revolves around an American author named Catherine who's doing some research in Bali for a book she's writing on the subject of Black Magic. And, of course, what better way to get an understanding of something such as Black Magic than to become a practitioner of it. Silly goose. Cathy meets an evil witch which promises to train her in the dark arts. Tricked, Cathy is turned into a Penanggalan; a flying vampire with internal organs hanging from her neck.

The list of bonkers-laden imagery presented in this film is nearly endless, but here’s a small sampling: A flying head with vampire teeth and dangling entrails feeds on a woman about to give birth. Talking fireballs engage in mortal combat. Cathy transforms into a pig creature with breasts and also vomits live mice in green goop after a night spent in the form of a snake. At one point in the film, a character says, “It’s kinda weird, isn’t it? It’s really unbelievable.” Truer words were never spoken.
