17 Biggest Guilty Pleasure Movies Of 2017

If you thought Fifty Shades of Grey was bottom-of-the-barrel cinema, last year's sequel went one "better" with even tamer sex scenes and a more laughable plot which took the franchise into erotic thriller territory.

There's probably more self-awareness to these films than most critics would like to admit: some of the writing is so howlingly goofy it has to be on purpose, in order to elicit coy giggles from the demure housewives rushing out to see it in droves on opening weekend.

Elsewhere it's obvious that Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are just here for an easy paycheck, their contempt for the script scarcely contained. Dornan's Christian Grey continues to be a giant creep and the film's engagement with BDSM is questionable at best, while the disappointingly tasteful sex scenes basically make it feel like a big-budget softcore porno.

There's a lot to laugh at here, and while it's certainly a bad movie, it can't really be called boring.
