17 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Fast & Furious Franchise

14. The Rock Completely Overshadows Everybody Else

One of the smartest additions to the franchise to date has unquestionably been that of Dwayne Johnson as DSS agent Luke Hobbes in Fast Five. Boasting a ridiculous amount of charisma and a huge physical presence, it became pretty tempting to root for Hobbes as he chased down Dominic and co., though smartly, Lin appreciated Johnson's likeability enough to transform him into an unlikely ally of the gang, something that has transpired through to the sixth and seventh movies. He does kinda crash the party for everyone else, though, because he's more macho than Vin Diesel and infinitely more entertaining to watch, combining tough-guy one-liners with some hilarious banter, and an enthusiasm in the set-pieces that can't really be matched by anyone else. Hopefully Johnson will keep coming back for more, because considering that critics singled him out in Fast Five, he no doubt helped contribute to the series' new-found success in its last two entries.
