10. The Island - Xbox
The Island, while highly derivative, is far from a terrible film; it's gorgeously shot, and dodgy American accent from Ewan McGregor aside, the acting's not too bad either. Still, many will remember it less for its awesome flying vehicles and busty Scarlett Johannson and more for this baffling morsel of soul-selling. Though it's slightly more imaginative than most, it essentially consists of implying what gaming might be in the future, with an interactive game that is, of course, on an Xbox, which hasn't changed the look of its logo one bit between the early 2000s and 2019...At the end of the day, it's a totally pointless scene done only to collect that payoff, and the film would be better without it, so it makes the list. Curiously, the film reportedly has a total of 35 paid ads, but none is as blatant and shamelessly involved as this.
